It has been confirmed that Disney’s latest animated film Moana will feature at least two Easter eggs.
Easter eggs, which are references to Disney animated films and characters, have been a tradition in Disney films for as long as we can remember, and Moana won’t be any different.
Speaking to Buzzfeed, directors Ron Clements and John Musker revealed that the movie will contain references to The Little Mermaid and Frozen by featuring Flounder and Olaf respectively.
“Flounder does appear in this movie,” Musker told BuzzFeed at a press event. “You’ll have to find Flounder. I won’t say where.” Considering the film’s ocean setting, this doesn’t surprise us at all.
However, everybody’s favourite snowman is also set to make a small cameo. “Olaf is in the movie very briefly,” Clements said.
“Once you realize where he is, you’ll get it,” Musker added. “But we don’t want to say too much.” How will Olaf fit into the film? We’ll just have to wait and see!
The directors also teased a few other Easter eggs in the movie, which we’ll have to look out for carefully.
Moana tells the story of a young South Pacific girl who teams up with a demi-god on an oceanic adventure.
