A ride featured at Disney World, Disney Land in Anaheim California, Disneyland Tokyo and Disneyland Paris has been announced as being in the works to become a feature length film.
It’s a Small World is a 50-year-old ride at several of the Disney theme parks and is due to become a feature length film. Despite being around 50-years-old, the attraction is still very popular and well-loved at all of the Disney parks. The It’s a Small World attraction at Disney which plays a repetitive song It’s a Small World as the passenger takes a boat ride through different countries, to see different visual aspects of that country and culture depicted through over 300 singing, robotic dolls.
Disney has announced that they have hired screenwriters Tim Rasmussen and Vince Di Meglio to work on their new movie, Rasmussen and Di Meglio have previously worked together as writers for 2010 film Marmaduke. Disney have also hired producers Jon Turteldaub, who produced National Treasure and The Lego Movie producer Dan Lin. Jared Stern, writer of Jim Carrey film Mr. Popper’s Penguins is due to write the script.
It is not unheard of for a ride at Disney to become an idea for a movie. The Pirates of the Caribbean attraction at Disney theme parks inspired the Pirates of the Caribbean movies and has made a lot of money for the franchise over the series of 4 movies.
With such a catchy song featured on the ride that will be stuck in your head for days, could a movie be as memorable? For anybody who has been on the It’s a Small World ride, at any of the Disney Parks, you will understand exactly what we are talking about!
