Man, oh man. Fifth Harmony’s new music video for ‘Work From Home’ has had us on fire all week long. They even have the iTunes and Global Spotify charts on fire! Success on top of success – that’s the kind of positive stuff we love to hear!
But, like every other fandom, negativity lurks around every corner. From YouTube, to Facebook, to Twitter, social media provides an outlet for people who have opinions – opinions that range from superbly positive to downright negative and rude.
The fact of the matter is girl groups like Fifth Harmony (and Little Mix) are subject to the world of hypocrisy and double standards. Luckily for us, we understand that these girl groups are absolutely slaying the pop world.
Fifth Harmony are growing into mature ladies and with this maturity comes new lyrics, new bound confidence, and a new outlook on life. Overall, these girls don’t need YOUR permission to be confident. Not only do they own their confidence, bodies, etc but they own their stardom.
‘Worth It’ became an international hit, a multi-platinum hit, they have platinum selling singles under their belt – yet the under appreciation continues. With the release of 7/27, coming in May, we are sure to see more enthusiasm from Fifth Harmony but also more pizzaz, more urban soul, and perhaps more girl power domination.
Move asides boys, the ladies have come to tell the world once again what they’ve been missing out on – girl power!
Normani, Dinah-Jane, Ally, Camila, & Lauren – keep doing you and remember you inspire millions of people just like every other respective artist. Your impact is appreciated. Don’t let those evil people get to you!
