Fans are hoping that one of Hollywood’s most beloved young actresses will be portraying Sabrina Spellman in the next season of Riverdale.
Dove Cameron has been suggested to play the unannounced role of Sabrina the Teenage Witch, which is most notably famous by Melissa Joan Hart, who starred as the protagonist in the late 90s sitcom.
Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, executive producer of The CW’s hit mystery-drama series confirmed that it is likely to expect the debut of Sabrina’s character in Riverdale with due time.
“Some people don’t even know that Sabrina is in the Archie family,” he revealed to Entertainment Weekly. “There is absolutely a universe where Sabrina pops up in Riverdale or one town over in Greendale…I’ll just tease that Sabrina has potential with a capital P.”
After proposals that Cameron would be the perfect addition to the show, viewers on social media passionately pushed the idea of the 21-year-old joining the cast with the hashtag #DoveCameronForSabrinaSpellman.

The incoming support even caught the eye of Cameron, who responded to one of the tweets with “hmmm.” The official account of the Archie Comics also quoted and restated the Liv & Maddie star’s response in emoji form, leading us to believe the role may already be hers.

Most recently, Mark Consuelos was added to the cast of season two. The former All My Children actor will fill the role of Hiram Lodge. The show’s official description of Lodge is a “a ruthless, handsome, charismatic businessman who is coming back to Riverdale after weathering a financial scandal that almost destroyed him. He is there to reconnect with his wife Hermione and, especially, his daughter Veronica, who is the apple of his eye.”
Riverdale’s season one finale airs Thursday night at 9/8c on The CW.
