The stars of Downton Abbey are promoting the final series in the US.
On Wednesday evening they appeared on Stephen Colbert’s Late Show.
Michelle Dockery who plays Lady Mary, Hugh Bonneville who plays Lord Grantham and Allen Leech who plays Tom were told by the host that when Americans watch the BBC show, “we hear that accent, and we think of it as very classy.”
The experiment which the cast took part in was meant to examine if the show would seem as elegant with a new style of speaking.
