He’s done it again! Canadian singer and rapper Drake has claimed his fourth UK number one single with ‘Nice For What’.
Dropped as a surprise release on Saturday, ‘Nice For What’ has gone straight in at number one, knocking Lil Dicky and Chris Brown’s ‘Freaky Friday’ from the top spot after just one week.
‘Nice For What’ is Drake’s second UK number one this year, and fourth throughout his career. His previous chart toppers are ‘What’s My Name’ with Rihanna, ‘One Dance’ and ‘God’s Plan’.
Elsewhere on the charts, Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa’s ‘One Kiss’ has entered at number three after giving the top two a good run for their money. According to OfficialCharts.com, a mere 2096 combined sales separated this week’s top three. Former chart topper ‘These Days’ by Rudimental, Jess Glynne, Macklemore and Dan Caplen is this week’s number four, whilst George Ezra is at five with ‘Paradise’.
Marshmello and Anne-Marie are sitting pretty as ‘FRIENDS’ at number six, whilst Keala Settle is at seven with ‘This Is Me’ from the movie phenomenon The Greatest Showman. Portugal The Man’s ‘Feel It Still’ is at number eight, Sigala and Paloma Faith’s ‘Lullaby’ is at nine, whilst Post Malone and Ty Dolla Sign round off the top 10 with ‘Psycho’.
New entries in the top 40 include The Voice UK winner Ruti’s ‘Dreams’ at number 14 (check out our exclusive interview with her here), Nines’ ‘I See You Shining’ at number 37 and Cardi B’s ‘I Like It’ at 40.
