It’s been a wild ride for Drake. From his first mixtape Room For Improvement to “Hotline Bling”, he’s taken the world and the internet by storm. After many mysterious billboards popping up around Toronto, Drake has finally announced a release date for his new album, Views From the 6! On Saturday night, he announced on OVO Sound Radio that Views From the 6 will be available on April 29th.
This might seem like any normal date, but when Drake tweeted a video announcement, fans quickly pointed out the significance of the date he’d picked.

Drake has always been rather proud of the city he supposedly started from the bottom in, and we wouldn’t be surprised if this was intentional. After all, he’s single-handedly given Toronto this nickname that people can’t seem to stop using. In the epic video he’s shared on social media announcing the album release date, there are multiple references to the city: The Toronto Raptors, receiving the key to the city during the NBA All-Star game, and even footage from his time on Degrassi.
