The immensely talented and gorgeous singer-songwriter, Dua Lipa, has triumphed with her 2015 single “Be The One” now being certified as platinum!

The song was released back in October 2015 as the first “proper” single from her self-titled debut album, DUA LIPA, and was successful across the globe reaching platinum status in Australia, Belgium, and Italy.  And now “Be The One” has become a platinum selling song in the UK, too, with 600,000+ copies sold.

The organisation responsible for presenting the Silver, Gold, and Platinum awards to music artists, BPI – or the “British Phonographic Industry” – announced the song’s certification on Twitter earlier today.

Massive congrats to @DUALIPA who has scored her first Platinum single with 'Be The One'!

The highly regarded popstar responded to the news in a way only she could!

We THINK that means she’s happy!

“Be The One” achieved great success all over Europe, reaching the number one spot in countries such as Belgium, Poland and Slovakia, in addition to charting in the top 10 in eleven European countries!

Dua Lipa has worked extremely hard to get to where she is today, though. From attending The Sylvia Young Theatre School, and posting covers of her favourite artists’ songs on YouTube – namely P!nk and Nelly Furtado – here was a young girl who knew what she wanted (and who had great taste in music!).

Fast-forward to 2017 and Dua Lipa has become a complete success story with the release of her debut studio album and the subsequent release of her seventh single, “New Rules”, which became Dua’s first number one single in the UK! The song was also particularly important because it was the first song in almost two years by a female artist to get to the number one spot in the UK since Adele’s 2015 power ballad, “Hello”.

    GIRL POWER!

Well, Dua Lipa’s hard work has definitely paid off and we cannot wait to hear what she comes up with next!
