Christopher Nolan is one of the most talented filmmakers of all time, with credit on films like Momento and Batman Begins to The Dark Night and Inception, his movies are a staple to the film industry. From his unique and well thought approach to directing and writing to his ability to pick out all star casts for all of his movies, Nolan is quite the genius and we’ve all been wowed by his filmography.
His newest and highly anticipated film Dunkirk is currently being filmed which means Nolan is hard at work with yet another incredibly talented group of actors.
Among names like Tom Hardy and Mark Rylance to Fionn Whitehead and Cillian Murphy – the film is sure to be a successful portrayal of the evacuation of Dunkirk, which the film centers around.
Another reason for the buzz surrounding Dunkirk is the acting debut by Harry Styles who is currently on a hiatus from One Direction. Harry’s namesake had nothing to do with getting him the role, if anything, it made it a bit harder. He wanted this role and to be taken seriously both in the process of auditioning and filming his character role. He worked hard and has impressed the cast, crew, and Nolan so much he’s said to have been given extra dialogue so he could have more of a presentation in the film.
Fans of Harry and One Direction have been looking forward to the first look at Harry’s acting debut and even non-fans have been curious as to what he’ll bring to the table. While the wait for the film is still a long one, the first look into Nolan’s vision of Dunkirk was released today and while much is still left to the imagination – it sets the tone for the film.
It’s a no-brainer that if you weren’t already anxiously awaiting the film, you definitely are now. While in true Nolan fashion, not much was given away in this first trailer – it did what it was supposed to. The action and mood of the film are set and it’s left you wanting more, which after all, is the exact point of a teaser trailer.
