In case you’ve been living under a rock, the movie event of winter 2017 is on it’s way and thanks to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, we now have some more exclusive details about it.
A re-imagining of the 1995 classic, “Jumanji,” was recently announced which made us think that the upcoming movie would simply be a reboot, but we stand corrected. The producer and lead actor has taken to Instagram to clarify rumours that the new movie would be, “a continuation,” and a sequel of the original.
Dwayne wrote that the new movie would, “not be a remake or reboot of the original. It will be a continuation of the awesome Jumanji adventure twenty years later.”
Alongside Johnson himself, Kevin Hart and Jack Black have been confirmed to star in the movie and there are also rumours circulating that Nick Jonas will be joining in on the fun too. We can’t wait!
We are also excited to see how the sequel will honour the late Robin Williams, whose portrayal of character Alan Parrish in the original title was one of his best known and most loved roles. Back in May, Johnson said, “the love and respect I have for him [Robin] is boundless. You have my word that we will honour his name and his character will stand alone and be forever immortalised in the world of Jumanji in an earnest and cool way.”
Production is expected to begin in the next couple of weeks with the movie scheduled to impact in December 2017.
