Dylan Tauber Releases Dazzling ‘He Loves Carmen’

Electronica artist Dylan Tauber recently dropped his fourteenth album, He Loves Carmen, an album about love and resilience.

The album’s title was inspired by Dylan’s girlfriend, Carmen. Another track on the album features Anastasia Derkach, a Ukrainian singer, who in the face of the war raging around her, sang. Tracks from the album have already received airplay on Saipan Radio 100.3 KWAW.

An award-winning electronic musician, cyber artist, photographer, and author, Dylan graduated from Columbia University in 1996. Since then, he has been based in NYC, Jerusalem, Miami, a remote island in the southwestern Pacific, and now a kibbutz in northern Israel where he is Artist-in-Residence.

In addition to releasing fourteen ambient/electronica/trance music albums through his Son of Waves Studios music label, Dylan runs a network of 22 websites which include an online imaging/photo gallery, and a video archive. This network of websites has reached over 5.2 million page views since 1996, and millions of video views.

Encompassing 14-tracks, He Loves Carmen begins with “Don’t Tell Me,” a shimmering, dance-flavored tune topped by a deliciously evocative voice. Entry points include “I Love Carmen,” riding a measured rhythm as percolating luminous hues travel overhead.

“Soulmate” features ethereal textures on a thumping kick drum as soft swirling tiers of coloration dance and glide above. At once silky-smooth and throbbing, the tune glistens with warm, sparkling hues.

“I Am a Mirror” rolls out on dark rhythmic pulses as gleaming tones add silky-smooth accents. The feel and flow of the harmonics bubble lightly. “Light Warrior,” featuring the opulent, alluring voice of Anastasia Derkach, travels on a platinum palette of colors riding a mid-tempo EDM rhythm. Teeming with retro and modern savors, this track is perhaps the best on the album.

“I Love My Father,” blends dreamy, nostalgic textures with passionate magical tones, drifting and sailing.

Sans a lackluster track, He Loves Carmen goes beyond the usual ambient experience, as Dylan Tauber laces his music with elements of pop, EDM, and classical essence.
