Ed Sheeran announced on Instagram this morning that he’s been involved in a “bicycle accident”; posting a picture of his arm in a plaster cast.
The singer said he is waiting on “medical advice” which may affect the Asian leg of his tour. The tour is due to start at the end of this week.
Ed is set to perform in Taipei, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, The Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, India, and the United Arab Emirates this autumn; and, now fans are speculating that shows could be cancelled due to Ed’s injury.
Unsurprisingly, the internet was quick to blow Ed’s news out of proportion, with many saying Ed had been hit by a car.
Luckily, Ed’s manager, Stuart Camp, was on hand to speak some sense. He reassured fans that it was a simply a bike fall after LadBible claimed Ed had been “hit by a car and rushed to hospital”.

Stuart also called out Australian radio host Smallzy – who too claimed that Ed had been hit by a car – telling him to check his facts before making such claims.

What would we do without Stuart, eh?
Amid speculation that Ed may have to cancel shows; John Mayer was spotted in Ed’s Instagram comments offering to sit in for the singer at the upcoming tour dates. Zach Braff also offered his services as a triangle-player. We seriously hope it doesn’t come to that.
We hope Ed’s injuries don’t turn out to be too serious and we wish him a speedy recovery!
