Eddie Redmayne and his wife Hannah Bagshawe have welcomed a baby girl into the world.
The couple announced the news in The Times newspaper, which reported that Bagshawe gave birth on Wednesday. They’ve chosen to name her Iris Mary Redmayne – how pretty! Iris Mary is their first child together, and arrived just in time to mark Redmayne’s first Father’s Day!

The couple first revealed that they were expecting a baby at the Golden Globe Awards earlier this year.
Speaking at the Oscars, Redmayne told People that the couple were going to keep the baby’s gender a surprise. He said: “I’m excited, but I don’t think it’s sunk in yet. We just bought our first baby book. So there’s the first step. We’re waiting to find out [the sex]. We want to be surprised. It will be a big surprise either way! I figure part of it I’ll get from the book and part will be just instinct.”
Redmayne and Bagshawe have been together since 2012, and tied the knot in December 2014 in a private ceremony. Of married life, Redmayne said “I love being married. I feel so settled in my skin. So lucky to have the most wonderful, supportive, beautiful wife.” Now, they’ve added a beautiful bundle of joy to their perfect little family too!
