Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” has moved to the top of the provisional singles chart, putting the country singer in contention for her first Number 1 in the UK.
The track is currently fewer than 200 chart units ahead of HUGEL, Imael Angel and Ultra Naté’s “Movin’ To The Sun”, with the final result set to be confirmed when the Official Singles Chart is published on Friday.
The shift marks a significant turnaround for Langley, who was sitting at Number 5 in Sunday’s First Look chart. “Choosin’ Texas” has now climbed four places to take the provisional lead, while the wider Top 5 remains tightly packed, with fewer than 2,000 chart units separating the songs.
Ella’s track has been a steady performer in the UK rather than an immediate chart-topper. Originally entering the Official Singles Chart in January, “Choosin’ Texas” has since reached a peak of Number 3 and spent 10 weeks inside the Top 10.
The song’s latest surge comes as Langley continues to build her profile beyond the US country scene. Its sustained performance has made “Choosin’ Texas” one of her biggest UK successes to date, and a potential Number 1 would give the singer a notable new milestone in an increasingly international career.
For now, however, the top of the chart remains unsettled. With such a narrow margin separating Langley from “Movin’ To The Sun”, the final days of the chart week could still determine which song takes the top spot.
