Alt pop singer/songwriter Emei has just unleashed her new music video for her viral single “Scatterbrain”. The video features an all AAPI cast and director and is a perfect accompaniment to Emei’s popular hit single.
“Scatterbrain” is all about ADHD and Emei’s own experiences with a mind that is all over the place, especially in the middle of the night. The dark pop anthem of chaos resonated with listeners across the globe, with the song quickly going viral with over 8 million listens in just a few months. Her new music video directed by Aser Santos Jr., captures the restlessness and kinetic energy of the track with fast paced manic scenes inspired by fast-paced Japanese films. Emei’s vivacious performance is also front and center in the new music video.
Emei is a Chinese American performer, singer and songwriter who began releasing music in 2021. Building a name for herself with her dark alt pop releases filled with infectious hooks and relatable narratives, Emei in just under two years has built a dedicated and loyal following. “Scatterbrain” followed her 2022 single “Backtrack” and her debut EP End of An Era.
