Game of Thrones reigned supreme at The 68th Primetime Emmy Awards last night, winning 3, including the prestigious Outstanding Drama Series award for the Second Year running, making them not only the most awarded show of the night, but surpassing Frasier to become the Most Awarded Prime-Time TV Series in Emmy history. Between this years Primetime Emmy Awards and the Creative Arts Ceremony Awards, Game of Thrones won 12 for its latest season, combining for a cumulative 38 awards of its 6 Season Run, with 2 more series on its way to extent that lead. Its win for Outstanding Drama Series, as well as its win for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series, awarded to Miguel Sapochonik for the 9th episode Battle of the Bastards, prompted Deadline to dub the episode “maybe the best episode of TV ever”.

Veep took the top hounour in the Comedy Category, and its star Julia Louise Dreyfuss won a record breaking 6th Emmy for Best Comedy Actress. There were some surprise awards, in the form of Tatianna Maslany beating out Viola Davis to win Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, and Mr. Robot star Rami Malek sweeping the same award in the Actor category.
