The second Semi-Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 took place last night (10 May 2018) and what a fierce competition it was. A total of 18 acts represented their countries on stage, but only 10 could go through.
We knew it was going to be a tough competition and there were some surprises. Everyone has their favourites so it’s not a surprise that some of them didn’t make it to the Grand Final.
Shockers from this Semi-Final included Romania’s The Humans and Russia’s Julia Samoylova, who both become the first act from their country not to make it through to the Grand Final since both the countries debuted in 1994. It is also Poland’s first time not qualifying for the Grand Final since they returned to the contest in 2014
Regardless, we commemorate them for gracing that wonderous stage and giving it their all. It certainly is a once in a lifetime opportunity and they clearly all loved every single minute of being there. Check out our facts and stats article on all 43 countries and their acts that are competing this year.
