Recently released, is this brilliant indie-alternative-pop EP, titled “Everything You Wish For”, by Eva Rose, who really can do it all. The EP is addicting and engaging, full of melancholy lyricism that touches every listener. This follows up her third single from this EP, titled “Final Girl”.
Eva Rose is a Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter rising in the alternative-pop world, with tens of thousands of streams to her name. She is currently a student who has also modelled and gone viral on TikTok as an astrologer. Her strong lyrics and incredible voice have invited listeners to become fans of hers, and we’re not surprised considering her songs touch us every time we listen. Nearing 50,000 Spotify streams is the fourth single she ever released, back in October 2021, titled “Waste Your Time”. Following that single release, she dropped her debut EP, titled “Out Of Lives”. Now, she’s dropping her seven-track sophomore EP, tracks of which have already gone viral, racking up 30,000 Spotify streams and counting. Eva Rose is certainly someone to watch in the alt-pop music world, and we’re excited to see what she does next.
Written by Eva Rose, Dominic Florio, Rachel Bochner, and Laura Danae, executive produced by Dominic Florio, mixed by Dominic Florio and Chris Sclafani, and, mastered by Gabi Grella, “Everything You Wish For” is a seven-track EP that takes a nod of nostalgia to the early ’00s while mixing it up in this melodic alt-pop era that easily touches the listener. We also love the imaginative cover artwork that was created by Oliver Sloan conceptualizing the vibe of the EP perfectly.
“I Don’t Care” sets the tone of the EP with a stripped-back guitar-led track that builds, spotlighting Eva Rose’s vocals as she delves into not caring about an ex. “Happy Belated” follows by switching it up slightly with an upbeat tempo with rock vibes flowing through and strong verse lyrics that effortlessly make an impact with a controlled rhythmic chorus. The third track, “Centerfold”, follows the chorus from the previous track, it’s held back in a great delivery creating a sorrowful alt-pop ballad boosted by ’00s pop-rock energy. Next up is the fourth track, “Final Girl”, which is the lead single from the EP, and it’s beyond addicting as Eva Rose’s vocals are clear and crisp as she sings about finding out that the person she’s with isn’t who she thought they were, using typical fictional horror movie tropes as her metaphorical link with the final girl – it’s dark, haunting-pop that you can’t help but love.
Track five is “Projector”, which is almost an acoustic track with Eva Rose shining with her vocals, backed up by a subtle guitar. “Waiting For Saturn” follows next continuing with the guitar but with highlighted drums as she drifts us along relaxing the listeners with her sweet vocals. The final track on the EP is “Revisionist History” – which isn’t a school lesson or module although it sounds like one – that starts off with just a guitar and Eva Rose’s incredible voice as she sings to her ex wondering if she still pops up in their memory as she doesn’t remember the way she used to and so thinks of her time with that person as “Revisionist History”.
