This year’s Isle of Wight Festival is fast approaching! It’ll be taking place from the 21st to the 24th of June at Seaclose Park, Newport. This year also marks the festival’s 50th anniversary, so things look to be going all-out this year, even with a ‘gold’ theme on the Saturday night where attendees are invited to adorn themselves in gold garments.
Headliners this year are among some of the latest and greatest acts of the music sphere. Depeche Mode, The Killers, Kasabian, Liam Gallagher, The Script and James Bay are just some of the festival highlights, ensuring every music lover will have a fantastic time.
Also performing will be pop sensation Camila Cabello, whose international smash hit “Havana” logged five weeks at UK #1, becoming the longest-running female number one single since Adele’s “Someone Like You”. Hopefully the island will be blessed with good weather so we can dance along to the exotic vibes.
Nile Rodgers and CHIC will wow crowds with renditions of iconic party anthems such as ‘Le Freak’, ‘Good Times’ and ‘Everybody Dance’; and platinum-selling Kodaline will be sure to get the crowd moving. Other highlights include Manic Street Preachers, Chase and Status, Rita Ora, Jessie J and Soul II Soul.
The festival is sure to bring together music lovers of all genres; whilst Kasabian bring the rock, Catherine McGrath brings the country influences. No matter what your age or preferred music is, you’ll be sure to find it all at the Isle of Wight.
Many acts cannot wait for the festival, with Walking On Cars stating “This will be our first time playing Isle of Wight Festival and we can’t wait! So many iconic bands and artists have played it over the years, it’s really exciting to be a part of it this year.” Whilst Sam Duckworth said “IOW is a legendary festival, one steeped in historic performances and its line ups have acted as a who’s who of the greats. It’s because of this history that it’s always been on my wish list of festivals to play. It’s a great honour and privilege to be making my IOW debut this year.”
