A Brilliant Lie is an explosively-energetic alternative rock band from Orlando, FL.
The band consists of Tara Lightfoot-vocals/guitar, James Christopher Lane-drums, Matthew Movens- guitar, Jason Lemrond-guitar, and Nick Scout-bass.
A Brilliant Lie has released a three part EP, titled “Threads” and just released their last part, “Threads: Weaver” on March 29th.
We talked to the band about the EP and their past music.
The music video for your single “Unwoven” is simple in nature. What was your reasoning behind that? Did you throw around other concepts for it?
We really wanted new listeners/viewers to understand what our live show is like. So, we decided to go with a performance-based video that tied in the subtle dark mood of the song. Sort of like “what you see is what you get” scenario.
What can fans expect from “Threads: Weaver?”
A diverse set of songs that comes together to be anthemic, melodic, and emotive. At least, that’s what we tried to do. This EP is highly-representative of us as a band and how we’ve evolved in writing together. So, hopefully, whether you are a first-time or long-time listener, you’ll enjoy it.
What is your thinking or reasoning for the three series of EPs instead of a full album?
We thought it would be an honest attempt of having our fans and friends grow with us as we evolved as a band. From the first album “Threads: Cutter” to “Threads: Spinner,” and now to “Threads: Weaver,” one can see how the EPs flow together, but have their own personalities.
What would you like to tell your fans and supporters?
From the bottoms of our tiny little black hearts…thank you. We’ve received so much love all across the country – and even messages from people all over the world being so kind. Honestly, we couldn’t do it without you. Come give us hugs and high fives!!!
