Amber Donoso is best known for her modeling campaigns with big name brands such as Adidas, but she is much more than just a pretty face. Along with being a successful model the rising star is also an accomplished singer/songwriter.
She has recently released her debut single ‘Get Off‘, and here we speak exclusively to Amber about her music, modelling, future plans, and much, much more;
You are best known for modelling so what made you want to become a singer?
I began singing and songwriting at the age of 10 and I always knew that would be my path in life. Modelling was very short term and was my way of gaining enough finances to support my music career.
So, music always been your main passion?
Yes! I grew up listening to music all the time,I was always a performer. It’s funny looking back at videos of me when I was 5 years old as I would be playing the air guitar and pretending to hold a mic. This is years before I took it up, so its always been my love and passion even before I knew it.
Growing up who inspired your love of music?
I’ve always listened to many different artists and genres. Lauryn Hill and Erykah Badu have massively inspired my music as have artists such as Madonna, Michael Jackson, Gwen Stefani and Aaliyah.
If you could collaborate with any artist who would you choose?
Chris Brown. He’s extremely talented and an amazing performer.
You have recently released your debut single ‘Get Off’, what can fans expect from the record?
‘Get Off’ is about my relationship with an ex-boyfriend. The theme of the song is being unable to move on from someone you are still in love with. When writing the song I wanted people to be able to understand my thought process in and after the relationship and how that left me feeling. The song is about love, I’m a huge romantic. It’s been great, since putting out the single I have received such brilliant feedback so I’m really happy.
Do you have any touring plans lined up?
I’ll be performing at Cuckoo club the 4th November which I’m very excited for. I’ll also be heading to Glasgow to perform in the next few weeks.
Do you hope to release an album soon?
At the moment there is no plan for an Album, but yes I’m sure there will be one soon.
What do you hope to achieve over the next ten years?
Doing a lot and being extremely busy. I see myself touring both by myself but also with other artists. I see myself having plenty of material for many albums/ videos and lastly being the face of many brands which I love.
