Boy Epic is a dark-pop artist and musical force of nature who has been signed to Hollywood Records, and with over 24 Million views on Youtube collectively, it’s no surprise he was snapped up by the label. His last single, ‘Trust’ has already garnered over 1M views on YouTube. And his new single ‘Wolf’ is receiving rave reviews from critics and fans alike.
Here we speak exclusively to the rising star about his new music, musical heroes, career goals and more;
Growing up who inspired your love of music?
Life inspired me most. But Adam Lazzara also inspired me a great deal. Watching him take the stage and give it his everything is always incredible to watch.
Who are your all time musical heroes?
Adam Lazzara. Kanye West. Tom DeLonge. Frank Sinatra.
If you could collaborate with anyone who would you choose?
Lorde. Imagine Dragons. Kanye West. Hans Zimmer.
Can you remember the first time you fell in love with music?
Sometime around early middle school. I remember watching my aunt play piano. She was a symphony orchestra director and I remember just be fascinated with her musical abilities.
If you weren’t a musician what would you be doing?
Film. That’s why I’m currently doing both. I love both equal and try to infuse the two as much as I can, always.
What is the inspiration behind your new single, “Wolf”?
“Wolf” was a deep dive into my subconscious. I wanted to write about ego, selfishness and insecurities. Sometimes it’s hard to write about our flaws as a society, but with this song I wanted to pull back the curtains and be real with my audience.
Can fans expect an album from you soon?
Currently, I’m just releasing singles, but yes, there will come a day when I release a full album. But right now I’m just focusing on one release at a time.
Will you be touring soon?
That is my next goal.
What do you hope to achieve over the course of your career?
There are way too many to name, but I’ll leave you with this: Never lose who I am.
