Christian James is a rising pop musician, model and actor from America who is bringing his unique style to his growing audience. His early years in the industry were spent in film with a cameo on the movie The Perfect Game before moving in to music.
After discovering his passion for music at the age of 12, James has continued to pursue his dream of becoming a successful musician. And in 2015 he made his debut in the music world when he walked the Orange Carpet at the Teen Choice Awards where he promoted his debut release ‘Give Him Up’ which featured Macy Kate.

Now, two years later Christian James has released his second single; ‘Fall’. So far the track which was released in the spring has racked up more than 100,000 streams and is continuing to grow. The rising star is now working on his debut EP, which is due for release at the end of the summer.
Here we speak exclusively to Christian James about his new single, passion for music, new music video, and much more.
Growing up was music a big part of your childhood?
It actually wasn’t! I didn’t start music until I was 12 years old, I was more into skateboarding and just hanging out with my friends. However, I kept feeling like I was missing something. Once I fell into music, I found a place to finally express myself.
Can you remember how old you were when you wrote your first song?
I was 14 when I wrote my first song. At that point, I was writing completely on my own. I have since developed my writing abilities to the point where I love to collaborate with other writers and producers in the room. The energy in creating new songs is awesome.
Who inspired you to pursue music as a career?
As cliché as it sounds, when I was 12 I really looked up to [Justin] Bieber and his music. I thought it was awesome and inspiring how someone that young could take over the music industry. Watching him really inspired me to pursue my own music and that quickly turned into my obsession.
Who are your other musical icons?
Ed Sheeran 100%! He’s so unique and his talent in using lyrics to tell a story is something I really hope to be able to achieve one day. There are so many others who are influencing me right now, and I feel like everyday I meet someone else who is insanely talented.
If you could collaborate with any artist/band who would you choose?
Shawn Mendes, Ed Sheeran, or The Chainsmokers, honestly there’s so much amazing talent out there I would be honored to work with, but these 3 would be my top for sure. I also wouldn’t hate a chance to work with Selena Gomez.
What songs are you listening to at the moment?
Right now I think Kendrick Lamar’s new album is killing it, as well as ‘Divide’ by Ed Sheeran. I have a really wide taste in music so I kind of bounce around! Never know what’s going to be on my playlist that week.
What is the inspiration behind your new single “Fall”?
Honestly, just putting out a love note. I wanted to show how what I’m like in relationships, and what kind of a guy I am. I really wanted to put out there something my fans could relate to and just have fun listening to! I wanted a song that gave off good energy and put people in a good mood!
How much fun did you have shooting the video for the single?
A blast! Well..it was really hot out and the production crew lost some footage of what we shot the whole day, so we had to re do some scenes. But other than that, it was so much fun working with everyone and seeing something come together. I loved being in the studio and working with the production crew from EDI.

Can your fans expect an album from you soon?
I will be releasing an EP soon, which I’m super stoked about. I am excited to bring more of my writing to this EP, as well as showcase some co-writes too with other producers and top-liners I’ve been working with!
Do you currently have any tour plans?
Right now I’m in the studio every day working on new music, but I’m excited to start announcing live shows once the EP is out, so stay tuned for sure!!
What do you hope to achieve in the next ten years?
Of course I hope to have released and sold a couple of albums by then! But more importantly, I want to have inspired people with my music. I hope the next ten years is all about collaborating with other artists, and being able to send a message through lyrics that will leave a lasting impression on people.
