Live.Me is one of the fastest growing broadcasting apps today. With Live.Me, users can produce their own content and livestream to the world, as well as watch other users’ broadcasts, follow them, and comment on their videos. Although anyone can create their own livestreams, it takes true commitment to become one of the application’s most-followed users, such as Amber-Tiana, who has accumulated over 183K fans on the site. So what’s the secret?
CelebMix recently asked Amber-Tiana about her Live.Me status, as well as any advice she would give to new users.
Tell us about yourself!
My name is Amber-Tiana De Marco. I’m originally from Waianae, Hawaii. I currently live in Los Angeles, California and I’m a storyteller.
I’ve been on and off stage and in front of and behind the camera for over 10 years and today I use social media as a platform to share my creations with the world. My goal is to use my influence to spread messages of love, peace and happiness to every person I meet and to encourage those I meet to be be curious, seek knowledge and gain understanding and compassion for others.
Right now I’m working on something called The D28 Project. D28 is a 28 episode docu-series that I’m shooting in Detroit this month. I was inspired to produce D28 because I wanted to showcase good people telling good stories about a place most people perceive as bad.
I keep all my viewers updated on the progress of D28 through the videos I upload to my YouTube channel and through my streams on Live.me.
When did you first start broadcasting on Live.Me?
I started broadcasting with Live.me in early May 2016! It’s been a year!
How does it feel to be one of Live.Me’s top users?
It’s such an honor! I’ve been streaming now for about 5 years but I never really felt like I was a “real broadcaster” until I came to Live.me. On Live I felt comfortable, welcome and a part of the community from day one so to be able to grow with the app and become a part of its story has been an absolutely amazing experience and one that I am incredibly grateful for.
What advice would you give to other Live.Me users who also want to make it big?
Keep consistent! I know you’ve heard that before but there’s a reason you have! It’s because it’s true. I stream Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturday’s from 4:00pm – 7:00pm PST. That’s my schedule and I do my very best to stick to it! As you grow your viewers will become regulars and they will work you into their schedule. It’s important to respect their time by being available when you say. They will appreciate it and will keep coming back.
Of course another important thing to do is to keep up with the times and the trends but to me the most important thing for you to do is to be yourself. Again, I know you’ve heard it before. Think about it though. There are always other streams going on with other streamers for people to choose from. Why should they choose you? What makes you unique? Find the thing that only YOU can do, do that and you will be successful.
Who are some of your favorite broadcasters on the app?
I have tons! I could go on all day. There are so many amazing and talented people on this app! It’s so hard to choose so I’m gonna cheat and just tell you about the last stream I went to. My number one fan goes by Rockaboo. I call her Mama Rockaboo. The last time I went into her room she was in a light up tutu with a shirt on that said “I Love The 80’s”. She had a full on light system going with a microphone, magic wand, in hand, etc. She was playing the jams! I was dancing and singling and clapping along. It was such a good time.
What can people expect from your broadcasts?
Honestly you never know what you’re getting into when you come into my room. Sometimes I’m singing Les Miserables and sometimes I’m rapping Nicki Minaj. Sometimes I’m doing silly accents and sometimes I’m talking about the power of expressing gratitude. It’s always different but people should expect to leave having been entertained! It’s always a good time. You won’t wanna leave and sometimes I don’t either! I’m notorious for my “last song” turning into “5 songs later.”
