We LOVE Rothwell here at CelebMix, so we were more than happy to have a chat with her recently as she gets ready to help the Isle of Wight festival celebrate its 50th anniversary.
Ella Rothwell is in her own words “West country born and raised.” She remembers watching The Enemy perform at Glastonbury and them being “sick”, she also got to see Beyonce perform THAT amazing set at Glasto which she remembers as being “incredible”. We get the distinct feeling that Rothwell has a deep love for all things festival related as she managed to catch Phil Collins at BST in Hyde Park last summer and describes the experience as “incredible”.
This weekend Rothwell is heading to the Isle of Wight festival, which is celebrating its 50th birthday with (in our opinion )one the best lineups it has ever had. Rothwell will perform at the festival along with some of our other favourites The Script, Camila Cabello, Louise, The Killers and Tokio Myers. Rothwell is “Really looking forward to LANY, Sigrid, Blossoms, Wild Front & The Killers!”
This is the second year in a row that Rothwell has graced the stage at the Isle of Wight festival, she performed last year on the Hard Rock Cafe stage. This year she will take the stage twice this year. Both her sets will be on Saturday. She will perform on the “Big Top” stage and in her own words will do a “sneaky little set” at the Aussie Hair tent.

Rothwell enjoys performing at different size stages at festivals like the Isle of Wight.”I think its part of the fun! It’s also a great opportunity to meet other musicians at a similar stage in their career and to have a good old drink with everyone. Gives you some great practice of how to work a stage and a festival audience.”
As an artist who not only loves performing at festivals but attending them, Rothwell knows what she likes when it comes to enjoying herself at a festival. “You’ll definitely find me with a pint of cider in hand and most probably a burger in the other. Love to try and find a bit of falafel too. I Just like to have as much fun as possible but will ALWAYS be prepared with a raincoat!” Aside from a raincoat, she’s “all about the Fila Crop top” and is “loving the 90s vibe that everyone’s bringing back”.
Her top three festival must-haves? “Face wipes, hand sanni and GLITTER (bio degradable obvi)”.
Who’s coming to see me live this summer?! Sneaky little London date in there too ? pic.twitter.com/ZyDvoJst67
