Liv ‘N’ G are an unsigned pop duo from Hartlepool whose new single ‘Smile For Bradley‘ topped the Official Trending Chart after its release last week. The touching song is raising funds for six-year-old terminally ill Bradley Lowery.
The Bradley’s Fight charity single is the second fundraising song to be released by Liv ‘N’ G following the beautiful ‘Our Superhero (A Christmas Wish)‘ which dropped last Christmas.
Here we speak exclusively to the duo about their charity work, future plans, new music and more.
‘Smile For Bradley’ is your second charity release for Bradley Lowery, how did you first get involved in raising money for him and his family?
We were approached by a charity in Hartlepool who release a Christmas song for different charities each year so we were asked to write a Christmas song for Bradley. After we started reading his story we fell in love with his personality and made sure the Christmas song was personalised to him. The Christmas song ‘Our Superhero’ peaked at [number] 12 in the iTunes charts and raised quite a bit of money for his charity, so we just wanted to do it again.
The new track has debuted at number 28 on The Official Chart this week, are you proud of how much awareness and money your single is raising for Bradley?
We’re very proud. It reached number 3 in the iTunes Charts and number 1 in the Official Trending Charts we can’t believe how much support the song has had. We’re so grateful.
Have also you spent time with little Bradley and his family?
We spent time with Bradley over Christmas when helping him open all of his Christmas cards that everyone sent him!
Do you plan on releasing any more singles in aid of Bradley and or other kids in the same situation?
Yes of course. We love doing work for charity. We just love trying to make a difference to other people’s lives. We love making people happy!
What advice would you give to someone who is looking to release a charity single?
We would say make sure the song that you’re releasing has real personal meaning and relevance to the charity so people can feel the emotion when listening to the song. Make sure you have all the legal stuff in place too if you’re releasing a cover!
Apart from releasing these amazing charity singles, what else have you been up to recently?
We’ve raised over £10,000 this year alone for different charities. Aside from our fundraising we’ve got a new song on iTunes called ‘Over You‘. We have another 3 lined up ready to go within the next few weeks so keep an eye out!
Can fans expect an album from you soon?
Definitely, were currently working towards an EP which should be finished very soon!
What are you hoping to achieve in your careers over the next ten years?
We’re hoping that everyone loves our original songs that we’re going to release. We want to make a living doing what we love and hope we can soon take our careers to the next level!
