Alien Uncovered are a 6 piece girl group with a mission; to reinvent pop music. The group – made up of Natalie, Frank, Yaz, Madison, Shae, Temple and Shay – impressed the judges in their audition for UK show ‘XFactor’ and eventually made it through to Cheryl’s judges houses. Following their recent departure from the live shows, I caught up with them and asked them a few questions about their music and life as an XFactor contestant.
- How did ‘Alien Uncovered’ initially begin?
AU: Some of us were in a group before called cxv24. We decided that the group wasn’t really working and we wanted to make it more urban, so we held some auditions for new members and invited Maddie and Natalie down to audition, and here we are.
- How was your XFactor experience? Did you enjoy it?
AU: We really enjoyed our XFactor experience. It was an amazing platform for us to now go on to reinvent pop and come back onto the scene with a bang.
- What would you describe your music as being?
AU: Our music is Alien, hence the name haha. It’s urban, it’s dark, it’s something different.
- How was it working with Cheryl?
AU: Cheryl was a pleasure to work with. We are really lucky to have her as a mentor. She understood Alien and one thing she always said was for us not to conform and to remain true to ourself which we definitely did and will continue to now do freely.
- Can we expect new music in the future?
AU: We’ve already been back in the studio working on new material so you can expect some new music from us very soon haha.
- Who do you want to win the competition?
AU: We would love for either Reggie and Bollie or Max Stone to win the competition. Such genuine and talented guys!
