Betta Lemme is an exciting talent who has recently signed with Ultra Music and released her brand new EP ‘Bambola’.
Here we speak exclusively to Betta Lemme to discuss her new music, future plans, musical inspirations and more:
Growing up who inspired your love of music?
Queen, Dalida and Techno/Dance. However, these just amplify inspiration. I think personal inspiration comes from the feeling you get when you hit an Am chord on the piano.
Who are your all time musical heroes?
Freddie Mercury, Dalida, David Bowie, and Missy Elliott.
Can you recall the first time you realised you wanted to pursue music as a career?
Growing up, I was told that working in music was not a career option. In school, I failed music class and was rejected from music school later on. I’ve known since I was young that I wanted to live in music but for a long time, I didn’t know how or where to start.
Your new EP ‘Bambola’ is out now, what inspired the project?
The Bambola EP was inspired by my experience after a bad breakup. I came to a new city alone, made friends, and became very transparent about my feelings while putting an end to a relationship with someone who was destroying my spirit.
What do you hope fans take from the record?
I hope they find comfort in knowing they aren’t alone. You can relate to “Vague D’Amour” if you’re leaving a convoluted situation and “Sea of Silence” as you’re finding the strength to sit with yourself in the silence after the storm. “Bambola” is all about feeling empowered to stand up for yourself after you’ve come out of the bad relationship on the other side. I also hope they fall in love with live classical orchestral sounds and dance music like I do.
Do you plan on touring your new music?
I love to perform, so after releasing more music this Fall and early 2019, I plan on touring.
Are you currently working on an album?
Yes, I’m always working on new music. My next single is coming out this Fall.
Looking ahead what are your long term goals?
My long term goals are to be happy with whatever I release and to connect with people around the world. Also, turning every childhood dream into a reality. Ex: being apart of an SNL musical parody. lol
