The artist has a powerful persona which draws the listener and makes her pay attention to the artist’s words. Recently, Summer has released her new single “Stranger”. It’s a heartwrenching song with a relatable narrative.
We talked to the singer about the single and much more. Check out the interview below:
Please introduce yourself to our readers.
Hey, this is Cammi Summer I am a singer-songwriter originally from Argentina.
How did your journey as a musician begin?
I started singing since I was 6, I remember the first time I sang in public, me and my grandfather performed at an inauguration of a nursing home, haha it was fun.
My whole family sings and loves music. I grew up surrounded by it. When I was 16 I started doing covers on YouTube and then I decided to push harder and sing in bars and nightclubs, it was fun but I knew I wanted more so I kept pushing and here I am in the US chasing my dream.
How do you perceive your art and place yourself as the artist in the industry?
I think I see myself as an influence, I see many singers trying to be perfect for their fans and sometimes not being themselves, but I think it is always better, to be honest, and mostly with them, because if it wasn’t for them we as artists wouldn’t get anywhere. I’m thankful for all my supporters and can’t wait to spread my talent all over the world.
Do you have any idol who you look up to?
I grew up listening to Avril Lavigne and Demi Lovato. I think all their lyrics are beautiful and they helped me get through a lot of things, I love how unique their music is and how they are always themselves and they don’t care what people say or think about them.

Thank you! I really love it. it’s sad but powerful too, I felt very comfortable singing it and I was able to show my emotions through the song.
Even though the beats draw listener, the lyrics narrate a heartbreaking tale. What inspired you to create this track?
Well a lot of girls and guys, when they end a relationship, sometimes it is hard for them to see the other person go on with their lives and to see how easy it is for them to just forget about us and that’s when you feel like a “Stranger” to them.
How has been the response so far? We would love to know the creative process that went behind creating the song.
It’s doing good! I was worried because it is a different style, not what I usually sing, but it’s like the beginning of a story and it was the perfect song to start it. I think it’s always easier for me to express myself through music than talking about things. this song not only shares feelings I had in the past, but it shares feelings that many people have after a breakup and they can relate.
Would you like to share with us your future projects or endeavors?
I just want to keep writing and inspiring people, I want to give them answers when they listen to my music.
I’m planning on doing some shows down in Argentina this fall, so I’m very excited to sing in my hometown! I’ll be releasing more songs this year. Can’t wait for everybody to hear them. They are great songs.
