Julie Bergan has recently released her brand new single, “Outline,” in collaboration with Crazy Cousinz. The international pop-star has reached mass success on streaming platforms and captured the attention of countless music fans across the globe. With an extremely dedicated fanbase and extensive support system, Bergan plans to continue releasing music that will connect with others and inspire positive energy. In an exclusive interview with CelebMix, Julie Bergan opens up about the new single, collaborations and more.
What can you tell us about your new single “Outline” and the process of creating it?
I’m absolutely in love with the song and the energetic club vibes. It makes me want to dance and be on stage so bad! Can’t wait to perform it live. It was a fun process where everyone did their part in different parts of the world! Crazy Couzinz made the track in the UK, then I recorded the first vocals in NYC and finished the song in Norway. A few months ago, I finally met Crazy Cousinz for the first time in a studio in London.
How was it to work with Crazy Cousinz?
Really nice! I’ve loved his work ever since I discovered him, so I’m super excited that we got to do a song together. He’s super talented!
This release follows your previous single “Outta My Head.” Are these recent singles at all connected or just separate releases? Will they possibly appear on a larger project together?
I’m kind of into the club feeling right now, so it definitely makes sense in terms of what to expect from me in the near future. There will be a larger project (EP) coming soon. But I don’t wanna say if these songs are included or not yet, so stay tuned!
You have some incredibly dedicated fans, especially across streaming platforms and social media! What do you love most about having that support system?
I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to have people cheering for me and lifting me up every single day. That I have people who appreciate what I’m doing and who believe in me. That’s definitely something I don’t take for granted and I’m telling myself every day how lucky I am to have them! What I love the most about it is that they’re making it possible for me to actually do what I love most full time and that they make every single day better by sending me nice messages, coming to my shows, listening to my songs, etc. They’re all my best friends!
What can your fans look forward to hearing or seeing from you that’s coming soon?
I’m releasing a new EP in the near future which I’m super excited about. It’s been a difficult time for all of us lately in so many different ways. We’re all going through our own battles, but I’m glad that we can lean on each other as well because in some way we’re kind of all in the same boat right now.
For me, music is something that’s always there for me when I’m going through something. Either it’s putting words to my thoughts or maybe just to cheer me up and give me a lot of energy! So I really hope that some of the new stuff I’m coming [out] with will make people smile, dance and feel a little bit lighter for a while. And that I can make a weird time like this a bit more fun and spread some good energy to everyone that wants to hear.
Is there anyone you would like to collaborate or work with in the future?
So many! But someone I really dream about collaborating with right now is Rosalia. I’m absolutely obsessed with everything about her. I would also love to collaborate with Khalid. I think he’s an amazing artist.
What artists or bands have you been listening to or inspired by recently?
Definitely Rosalia. And I love Dua Lipa’s new album. It’s so good! Other than that, I’m mostly inspired by early 2000’s pop and RnB. Still listening to all those old and amazing jams on a daily basis like Britney Spears, Rihanna, Destiny’s Child, Robyn, Christina Aguilera, etc.
