Nigerian born and London raised, singer Aminu has always known that music was the career for him. Despite his parents wanting him to further his education he always knew performing was where his passion was. During his school years he learnt so sing in his school choir.
But to satisfy his parents wishes he studied BA and MA in Business Management but despite his success he always yearned for a career in the music industry. And in 2003 he came very close to realising his dream when music mogul and X Factor boss Simon Cowell courted him for a mega-bucks deal, but despite Cowell’s interest Aminu decided to focus his energy on finding his own voice.
Since turning down Simon Cowell, he has toured all around the UK and has worked with various producers. Working with Rob Ra, the rising star has found his style and together they have created Aminu’s long-awaited debut album titled ‘DYFM’, which so far has spawned the hit single ‘Shake U‘. The track has gained success both here and in Nigeria.
