Chersea is a fast rising RnB artist from Vancouver. She surrounds herself with a myriad of instruments, and uses her loop-stations to create ethereal walls of frequencies; all driven by her powerful voice and poetic lyrics, which all combine to create a sound that is truly unique to her.
Her soliloquy of personal hardship melts into an experiential production that allows listeners to connect with themselves and their neighbours in emotional ways they never never imagined.
Recently, Chersea released her debut LP ‘In Limbo’ via Fierce Panda in her native Canada and now she is ready to share the official music video for latest single ‘I Can’t Be You’.
Speaking about the clip, Chersea says: “The “I Can’t Be You” music video is about sharing the raw emotions and vulnerability in women; especially those who have experienced emotional trauma in relationships. Using a blend of professional actresses, close friends, and students, we incorporated REAL women to provide a truly honest response to the subject matter. What initially started as a performance, “I Can’t Be You” quickly became a cathartic experience where we shared stories, emotions, and song. It was a moment where we stripped away our differences and connected over difficult situations we had all shared. No matter who you are, or where you’re from, or what you want to become – we’re all human and much more similar than you could’ve ever imagined”.
