Me For Queen (real name – Mary Erskine) is gearing up for the release of her debut album which will be released later this year. And along with the LP, she has also announced a string of tour dates across the UK and Germany.
She began songwriting aged 13 in her native Scotland where she honed her skills and developed her passion for music.
And now she is ready to release her debut solo LP ‘Loose End’ to the world this summer. Speaking about the record, Me For Queen says: “This album is the product of me moving away from London for a spell to clear my head and see what’s left at the end! I’m immensely proud of these songs and of our little team that came together to create the album in the studio”
The first offering from the album is the title track “Loose End”. It is a single that offers all the vintage elements of folk and acoustic songwriting, with a contemporary production standard and hints of the ethereal. Mary’s vocal is soft, comforting & soulful in equal measure. It is a project that sounds like the culmination of a long and cultured musical journey.
Speaking about the track, the rising star says: “It pretty much sums up my approach this last year where I’ve tried to carve out some space to let my mind noodle, removing as many demands on my time in order to see what that could make room for. Sometimes the not-knowing, the unscheduled, un-routined is where the good stuff lives.”
