Country music singer/songwriter Riley Roth last week released her incredible debut single ‘Friendly’. The track comes after Roth decided to move permanently to Music City; Nashville after going back and forth between the home of Country Music and her native Pennsylvania.
She graduated from High School early and decided the time was right to make the switch to Nashville. Riley Roth then quickly climbed the ranks and made her own network in town.
The bubbly musician even became the very first artist signed to Atladena, which is a record label, publishing and management venture headed by the legendary producer Busbee (Lady Antebellum, Maren Morris, Carly Pearce, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban) and the notable Daniel Lee.
Speaking about how the song came about, Riley says: “I remember like it was yesterday, getting home from a run and having this thing stuck in my head, “we’re just being friendly, cuz you’re just a friend to me…” so I picked up my guitar and started to fiddle around with a melody. I brought that idea in the next day to my co-writers, Ben West and Victoria Banks. Ben started playing this really cool lick and lyrics just started to flow out of Victoria and I. This was such a fun song to write and they’re two of my absolute favorite co-writers. This song was definitely inspired by real life events. I’ve been in this situation a few times where a friendship started to become something a little more, but I kept telling myself that we were just being “friendly,” so I, of course, had to write a song about it”.
Roth also confirmed that more music is on the horizon; “It has been, what seems like forever, since I have released music, apart from this single, “Friendly.” Fans can expect to be hearing quite a few more songs that I’ve got in the mix, and I’m SO excited about that. I’ve been writing songs since I was ten years old and have always wanted to release something that has felt super authentically me, so it’s really cool to see that come into fruition”.
