We first introduced you to rising Canadian starlet Shayla Souliere last year after she released the acoustic version of her feisty single, ‘Screw U’. Whilst we’ve been pining for new material from Shayla, the wait is finally over as she drops her brand new single ‘Over’ today.
‘Over’ is another fierce offering from Shayla which is all about finally getting over someone. The track allows Shayla’s seamlessly infectious vocals glide effortlessly over the electropop beat. She is joined by Pimpton who delivers a slick rap in the latter half.
Speaking about the single, Shayla states: “The track ‘Over’ definitely shows who I am, I am cheerful and easy going. I love making music that everyone can relate to. The lyrics “I’m so over getting over you” I can relate to and I feel many others can as well.”
In addition to releasing ‘Over’, Shayla has also unveiled a cool lyric video for the song. Seeing the lyrics on screen reiterates how highly relatable they are. It’s safe to say that anyone who’s done with getting over someone will resonate with this catchy track.

‘Over’ is Shayla’s first single since ‘Screw U’, and although she may have been quiet on the original music front, she has been busy building her loyal fanbase. Shayla is a popular star on Musical.ly and will be performing her new single on the Musical.ly stage at VidCon today. She has also garnered over 37,000 followers on Instagram whilst also building up her YouTube profile with collaborations, including her latest featuring Kirsten Collins.
We can expect an official music video for ‘Over’ on July 21, but for now make sure you go and download or stream the single.
