It’s been quite the wait for new music from Misunderstood, but that is because, last year, they were contestants on The X Factor. Today marks the date of the official release of the song “Juicy Fruit”. Viewers of the popular British talent show will know that this is the song they auditioned with. The new track follows up their 2017 single “Ghetto Style”.

Misunderstood are a duo consisting of Stephan Benson and Jeffrey Okyere-Twumasi. They are best known for being contestants on the 15th series of The X Factor where they made it to the live shows, being mentored by Robbie Williams. They came tenth overall, but that doesn’t mean a thing as there is definitely a market for them in the music industry, and the duo proves just that with the release of their new song “Juicy Fruit”.

The song has been written by Jeffrey Okyere-Twumasi, Joe Killington, Sky Adams, and Stephan Benson. Just listening to the song takes us right back to their first audition last year, back when we identified who they were before they arrived on stage after seeing them as the support act for Alex Aiono in London a year prior to their audition. “Juicy Fruit” is the perfect jam song, the one that brought new fans to the table after their audition, and the one that had current fans loving every single second. Now that the song has been officially released, we can listen to it on repeat all day long.

The hook of the song jumps right in at the beginning “Juicy fruit from your head to toe / Shake that thing like you just don’t know.” and it’s the perfect way to start as it catches us and sets the mood of the song. The verses are upbeat and full of non-stop vibes that match the pace of the lyrics perfectly. Misunderstood will have you singing along to the chorus by the end of the track and we have no doubt you’ll be moving to this addicting beat at some point during the song.

“Juicy Fruit” is available to download and stream right now, distributed by Spinnup. A music video for the track is expected to be dropped soon – so look out for that, we’re expecting a lot of choreography, as a beat like this needs some dance sequences, at least.
