Rock and Roll with the stars this Christmas as they release ‘Rock With Rudolph’ in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital. The festive-filled Christmas single was released on November 30th and is accompanied by a glorious music video including a performance from the legendary Lionel Blair who’s still rocking ahead of his 90th birthday on December 12th.
We sat down with ‘Ex on the Beach’ star Jess Impiazzi to discuss the single and her exciting plans for 2019…
Hi! So, can you tell us a bit about how it was to record Great Ormond Street Hospital’s new Christmas Single ‘Rock with Rudolph’?
It was so wonderful to be a part of something so special for such a great cause! Getting a group together to sing Christmas songs and for a great cause, it was a heart-warming day.
What was the atmosphere like when you were recording ‘Rock with Rudolph’? Do you have any funny stories to tell us about the day?!
It was such a fun atmosphere everyone was really excited, it was quite funny because I had to take my niece with me because I was babysitting that day and she ended up joining in and is now in the song! She was very excited to tell all her school friends she had worked with Anne Hegerty, Lionel Blair, and Dani Harmer! Along with everyone else!
What made you want to be involved with the project?
I’m very into my charity work anyway, so when the opportunity came up I jumped at it! It’s a fun way to help the children at GOSH and bring X-mas joy all round.
Have you done any singing before? Did you get nervous recording in front of so many people?!
I actually trained at the Italia Conti academy so I have trained but let’s just say singing wasn’t my strong point, I was always really nervous to get up and sing!
Can you give us any hints as to what you’ve got planned for 2019….?
2019 is going to be a huge year and I’m overly excited, I have two movies coming out, the first called ‘The 7’ produced by Dean Cain, and I’m currently half way through filming my first lead role in a movie called ‘RIA’ which is a Sci-fi. Luke Goss (Bros) and Charlie Clapham (Hollyoaks) are my co-stars and they have been amazing to work with! Both are amazing actors and really helped me push my abilities.
Would you ever want to record and release a song again?!
As long as I’m in the background – I wouldn’t want to hurt anyone ear drums aha! But yes it was a super fun day!
Who were some unusual friends that you made throughout the production process? Did any of the other Celebs surprise you?
I thought Anne [Hegerty] was wonderful and Dani Harmer, I spent a lot of time sitting with them and having a good chat! Everyone was so friendly and meeting Lionel Blair was wonderful! He just has a showman spark in his eye and it’s wonderful to see!
