Dodie Clark, also known as doddleoddle, or dodie, is a British musician and vlogger. She is best known for her original songs, chatty vlogs, and ukulele covers. Last year, she released her first EP called ‘Intertwined’, a collection of four original songs and two interludes. She is also about to embark on her first headlining tour of the U.K. With currently over 1 million subscribers between her two YouTube channels, doddleoddle and doddlevloggle, Dodie has already achieved so much, and it’s only the beginning for her.
One of the most special things about Dodie is her authentic connection with her audience. She always keeps things real, and isn’t afraid to share what she’s feeling- good or bad. Her authenticity allows for her fans to feel a strong connection to her, even though a screen. Dodie’s viewers are also very close to each other, and are generally a very supportive, accepting, and kind community. There’s no doubt that Dodie’s little corner of the Internet is a special place to be apart of.
We could go on and on, but why listen to us? We spoke to some of Dodie’s fans via Twitter to find out why they support her and her music. Here’s what they had to say:
Cas – 15 – NFLD, Canada (@moderndodie)
“There are a lot of reasons why I love Dodie. (She’s just a very likable person), but I’ll keep this as short as I can. She’s real, and she’s kind, and she tries her hardest to talk to us even if her fanbase is growing every single day. She’s so genuine, and her videos, music, and personality all reflect that. She’s a sweet girl, and even with everything that’s happening to her, she’s still trying her best and doing what SHE loves. And I love her for that. She doesn’t hide what she’s going through, and she’s as open as possible because she knows that some of us might be going through the same things, too. She respects us, we respect her. She’s basically the best person in the world. Plus, her music is fricking awesome.”
Emily – 14 – U.K. (@teacupdodie)
“I love Dodie because she’s so down to earth and her music is so relatable and catchy. She brings so much joy just with one short video, and she’s so accepting of everyone. She’s done so much for me and she doesn’t even know it.”
Rosie (@vesseloddle)
“I love Dodie because even though she’s miles away, she’s like the big sister that everyone needs. She cares about everyone and shows reality, she has taught me so much about so many things and that it’s ok to not be ok sometimes. She’s also a ray of sunshine, she’s so passionate about what she does and puts so much work into her work. Her music is beautiful and has some great meanings. I can’t flaw Dodie, I love her so much. She is the kindest person you’ll ever meet and she is so appreciative of everyone.”
Justin – 13 – Alabama, U.S. (@thecringy12year)
“I haven’t been a fan of Dodie for very long but when I found her I immediately fell in love with her art syle, her lyrics, her smile, and just her positive vibes. Lots of her songs are able to capture feelings and thoughts that I’ve felt in the past, and I find it very comforting to know that other people feel and think the same as I do. I love Dodie very much because of her ability to express feelings I used to think were indescribable. She makes me feel very welcome, and for that I am very grateful.”
Clarisse – 19 – Manila, Philippines (@cortezclarisse)
“I love Dodie because she shows some vulnerability on YouTube, which is something that I couldn’t do and I truly admire her for that, she’s so strong. I love her songs because they give me life. I have depression and seriously listening to her songs elevates my mood and the lyrics are just magical. I love Dodie because she’s so real.”
Lara – 14 – Cambridge, U.K. (@aestheticdoddle)
“I love Dodie because she doesn’t just do covers, she opens up about herself and talks about things she’s going through, which is very helpful for people going through the same thing. Seeing her share it with other people makes them feel less alone and could save them. She’s a very sweet person and all her videos are original, and even her covers have her ‘essence’.”

“I love Dodie because she is gorgeous, honest, and so, so talented! I’ve met her three times and each time she’s been super lovely, I honestly don’t know how she can greet every single person with so much happiness! She is inspiring to many people and a wonderful role model to anyone. Her music is so wonderful, whether it’s a happy ukulele song or a piano ballad, it’s always beautiful. This is a picture of us when we met for the second time.”
Lexi – 17 – U.S. (@DodieAsQuotes)
“Dodie is so unique, and her audience really reflects that. Unlike most YouTubers, Dodie is not afraid to share the less favorable moments in her life, and it’s very refreshing, as most people’s idols only showcase the highlight reel. It makes her very relatable, which is why I think she’s acquired such a diverse fan base. I had the fortune of meeting Dodie, and I was presently surprised to find that what you see is what you get!”
Jojo – 14 – Rio De Janeiro, Brazil (@vesselphil)
“Dodie is such a sweet person. Her smile is so pretty and bright and could make anyone’s day lighten up. Her lyrics are amazing, some of them describe things I go through so well, it sounds like she’s speaking directly to me. She’s such a blessing and has helped me so much, I wish I could thank her for all of this. She deserves all the happiness in the world since she’s made me (and others) smile when I thought I couldn’t. I just love her so so much.”
Hess – 17 – Singapore (@legendaryphan)
“I love Dodie because she is so real. On a platform that tends to be filled with forced positivity, it feels good to hear that yes, life is shit sometimes and that is normal. She is so raw. I love listening to her (especially on doddlevloggle) just ramble on about life. She makes me feel like I’m not alone. I really appreciate that. Her songs are my favourites, she really is beyond talented. She creates beautiful art, and I feel privileged to be able to listen to it. I love her so, so much.”
Alex Iglesias (@Alex_iglesias03)
“The reason I love dodie is because she is going through some of the same things as me. She has a beautiful voice and isn’t afraid to speak up. She saved me; I suffer from Major Depression and Anxiety and I have ODD and DMDD. Dodie saved my life, when I’m depressed and suicidal I watch her YouTube videos.
And that’s why fans love Dodie! Thank you to all of the fans in this article for their lovely responses. And of course, thank you to Dodie for continually gifting us with your musical talent and for always keeping it real in both your songs and videos.
