Talented duo Ferris & Sylvester have released their brand new single ‘Sickness.’
Prior to the track’s release, the blues/folk band shared several previews of lyrics from the track on to their social media accounts, building anticipation for the imminent release.
Ferris & Sylvester have received great support with the release of the fantastic new track, including the track featuring as BBC Introducing’s ‘Upload of The Week.’
The song builds from a quiet, self-destructive thought and as the track progresses, it becomes a heartbreakingly beautiful lyrical composition of feelings of suffering and delight.
“‘Sickness’ was one of the first songs we wrote together. It came quickly and felt powerful almost instantly. It’s about human relationships – the power and the frustration – and the desire to throw it all away.
It felt important to keep it raw and let the song speak for itself. Everything you hear was tracked live and a lot of it was recorded in one take, the guitar solo and vocals for instance. It’s our proudest piece of work to date.”
The lyrics are well used and there is a catchy guitar beat used throughout, which ultimately adds to the track. The track combines a sound derived from roots and blues and is a real testament to the exceptional talent of Ferris & Sylvester.
‘Sickness’ represents Ferris & Sylvester’s first release of 2019, following the release of their single ‘Burning River’ and ‘Made In Streatham’ EP last year.
2018 was particularly successful for the duo, with their performing at major festivals in the UK and also performing alongside artists such as George Ezra and Jade Bird – among many others.
Their sound is continually evolving and ‘Sickness’ was produced with Michael Rendall, who has worked with artists such as Pink Floyd and Paul McCartney.
The duo are set to embark on their nine-date debut headline tour around the UK & Ireland throughout February. For a full list of their tour dates and to buy tickets, click here.
