The girls of Fifth Harmony have come over seas to the UK to promote their newest hit that topped the UK R&B charts, and hit the top 10 on Billboard, “Work From Home”. On this little trip, 5H stopped by the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge for the very first time to perform live band versions of “Work From Home” and their own cover of Elle King’s “Ex’s and Oh’s”. These ladies may not be here in the UK to stay but let us just say that they were definitely here to SLAY because they absolutely crushed it!
The girls shared their excitement for performing at the live lounge for the very first time; following in the foot-steps of artists they admire such as Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, and The 1975. As per tradition in the live lounge, the girls performed stripped down versions of songs and used a live band instead of a back track. This was a great way for us to be able to really hear the girls’ voices.
Starting with their performance of “Work from Home”, we were absolutely blown away. Claiming that they were slightly jet lagged, only had one rehearsal, and even were a bit nervous, it did not sound like that at all! This has easily become one of the performances of “Work From Home” Fifth Harmony has done yet!
Then the girls decided to do a cover of Elle King’s hit, “Ex’s and Oh’s”. This song is unlike any song that Fifth Harmony has so it was a treat to hear them take on a song with a more alternative vibe. Again, each girl absolutely nailed it! Each girl had their own solo throughout the song to showcase their individual voice and talent and then brought their voices together for a soulful performance that showed why they are better together.
Even Elle King herself shared her love for the cover!
