The only other girl group single that has sold 3 million copies was the Pussycat Dolls’ ‘Don’t Cha’, but has only been certified platinum by the RIAA. While ‘Worth It’ has also achieved the same amount of sold copies in the United States, it HAS been RIAA certified 3x Platinum.
In addition, ‘Worth It’s’ extra streaming points help it snatch the title as the best selling girl group single in the United States!
Let’s not also forget another added fact: ‘Worth It’ was able to go multi-platinum in the same year while PCD’s ‘Don’t Cha’ took 6 years. In 6 years, we expect Fifth Harmony to have a Grammy, a Tony, and a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame!
Now, while the song didn’t receive much universal acclaim, it’s enduring presence on the billboard charts has been noticed. Girl groups haven’t had so much presence on the Billboard Hot 100 in such a long time, so it’s great to see that all changing with groups like Fifth Harmony and Little Mix.
