Hollywood actor Danny Devito has backed Jeremy Corbyn at The Motion Picture and Television Fund event in Los Angeles.
He said that the Labour leader would do a better job than current Prime Minister, David Cameron, and would be a ‘great PM’.
He told the Press Association: “I like the idea of people telling the truth. I like them to get to the bottom of things. In our government we have a lot of subterfuge, now we’ve got the Panama thing.”
“What is it? Why doesn’t anybody want to pay taxes and just fix the country and make everybody have a good life? It’s really crazy.”
When asked if he was a fan of Corbyn’s he said “big time,” before going on to claim he should be Prime Minister: “I think he would make a great PM. Way better than Cameron.”
The 71-year-old also recently endorsed US presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders, at a Democratic rally in Missouri last month.
The It’s Only Sunny in Philadelphia star went on to criticise former Prime Minister Tony Blair: “Look at your history, for crying out loud,” he said. “A little sketchy guy hanging out with George Bush. What was his name? Blair.”
Corbyn has gained supported from various celebrity figures since becoming leader of the Labour Party last September. Brian Eno has rallied in support of the MP for Islington North while Billy Bragg recently invited Corbyn to speak at this year’s Glastonbury Festival. However, Noel Gallagher dubbed him ‘communistic’.
Unfortunately for Corbyn, Twitter didn’t exactly take Danny’s words seriously and mercilessly ridiculed the peculiar interview.

Many joked it was the final nail in the coffin for Cameron and predicted he’d be packing his bag once he found out Devito isn’t a fan.
