Let’s do the time warp again! The first pictures from Fox’s The Rocky Horror Picture Show have been revealed.

First unveiled by Entertainment Weekly, the photos show some of the cast in action, and boy are we in for a treat! The legendary role of Dr. Frank-N-Furter has been brought to life by Orange Is The New Black’s Laverne Cox, and as you can see below, she looks like she’s going to slay the role.

Speaking to EW, Cox said “I get tweets from people, ‘Please don’t f— up Rocky Horror Picture Show! I showed my brother pictures of me in character and he was like, ‘You were preparing your whole life for this.'” The role, famously played by Tim Curry in the musical and the 1975 film, has been given a slight makeover, with the “love child of Grace Jones and David Bowie” being cited as inspiration.

Cox told EW that the whole experience was “magical” and also a life-changing experience in some respects. “As a trans woman with a low voice, I had been so afraid of those low tones. This is a character where it’s absolutely appropriate that I sing in the base baritone register that I have. What’s also fun is playing with those higher notes in my register too. This is sort of my professional singing debut. But it’s been wonderful claiming my chest voice. It’s been really healing.”

Ryan McCartan and Victoria Justice will be taking on the roles of Brad and Janet, made famous by Barry Bostwick and Susan Sarandon in the movie. The pair get stranded in a storm and take refuge in Dr. Frank-N-Furter’s castle. Talking about the sexual elements in the role, Justice told EW: “There’s definitely a major sexual awakening and one that I haven’t explored on screen yet. I’m excited about it!”

EW also unveiled the first look at Rocky, Dr. Frank-N-Furter’s great creation, played by Game of Thrones star Staz Nair. Rocky’s wardrobe has received a bit of an update by six-time Tony-winning costume designer William Ivey Long, with Nair stating: “I’m wearing these nice, sexy knee-high platform boots and a gold latex bathing suit. I felt very sassy and I owned it.”

The remake also stars Reeve Carney (Riff Raff), Adam Lambert (Eddie), Christina Milian (Magenta) and Annaleigh Ashford (Columbia) with Tim Curry himself also making an appearance as the narrator.

Judging from these pictures, Fox and the cast are going to do an ace job. We can’t wait to watch The Rocky Horror Picture Show when it airs on Fox later this year.
