American pop recording artist FLETCHER begins to write a new chapter in her already remarkable career this week, with the release of her new single and music video for ‘Eras Of Us’.
Co-produced and co-written with longstanding collaborators Jennifer Decilveo, Tim Sommers, and Jeremy Dussolliet, the raw and anthemic track (partly inspired Taylor Swift)sees the ‘Better Version’ singer take her cinematic yet visceral songwriting style to a whole new level, as she contemplates the cascade of emotions that consumed her mind following a chance encounter with an ex earlier this summer.
Commenting on the powerful track, FLETCHER says: “I was lucky enough to see The Eras Tour this summer, and I ran into someone from my past who was a great love. Being at the same show and knowing that we were both scream singing all the lyrics written by an artist who has narrated so many of the romances throughout my life, the eras of our relationship rose and hit me like a wave. But water can’t ever be held, and writing this song was my best attempt at creating the container to capture that moment in time even if it was the closing of a chapter.”
The songs accompanying music video, directed by Alexandre Moors (Miley Cyrus, Kendrick Lamar) follows the singer as she wanders the desolate streets of Paris at the end of an epically long night.
Choosing to take the long way back to her hotel, FLETCHER basks in the sultry atmosphere of Pigalle (Paris’ red-light district), as she tries to blur vivid memories of her past, whilst lingering long on a subway platform, before greeting the new day by stumbling onto the sidewalk with fellow revellers getting kicked out of closing bars.
