Rising star Freya Skye has unveiled her highly anticipated debut EP, stardust, which includes her breakout hit ‘silent treatment’.
Freya wrote and worked with an acclaimed team of writers and producers, including powerhouse Julia Michaels (Sabrina Carpenter, H.E.R.), Grammy-winning duo Mattman & Robin (Taylor Swift), Johan Carlsson (Ariana Grande), as well as notable up-and-coming writers and producers.
The five-track EP is a bold offering which marks Freya as one to watch. She is a compelling storyteller who has quickly garnered a big support network, amassed over 1.5 billion streams in just a matter of months. The EP is made up of ‘silent treatment’, ‘petty’, ‘golden boy’, ‘maybe tomorrow’, and ‘why’d you have to call’.
On her debut EP, Freya shared, “I’m so excited that my debut EP stardust is finally out! I’m so excited about this project and proud of how it’s come together. Each song on stardust is a piece of who I was when I wrote it. They’re messy, honest, and a little bit broken on their own, but together they tell the full story.
This EP is about embracing those fragments and letting them exist exactly as they are, and I really hope that people can connect with it and love it in the same way I do. This really feels like my first big step into music and one that I feel super excited about.”
Freya’s rise has been incredible to watch so far, with her music capturing audiences in her native England as well as globally. With a social reach of more than 7 million, she shows no signs of slowing down, especially with ‘silent treatment’ continuing to gain momentum in the charts and on radio.
Tomorrow (February 6), Freya will be kicking off her sold-out headline Stars Align tour, beginning in Portland. The singer-songwriter will then travel across North America to cities including Seattle, LA, Chicago, Washington and New York before starting her UK run on March 3 in Birmingham. The tour will be the first time that Freya debuts some of her stardust tracks, which is bound to delight her army of fans.
