Gabrielle Aplin has joined forces with JP Cooper to release emotive pop number Losing Me. The track is the perfect mix of sincere lyrics, catchy melodies and striking vocals.
Taken from Gabrielle’s upcoming third album, the track was produced by Lostboy and Mike Spencer and has a delightful sense of magic around it. When listening to the track you can grasp a sense of hope, feeling as if it’s reaching out to you whilst singing of emotions many have experienced. As Gabrielle Aplin explains, this was exactly the desired effect “Losing Me is about what you wish you could hear when you’re having a particularly hard time, while also being that voice to someone else who needs it.“.
Gabrielle recently explained that the inspiration behind the video is how in the modern world, even when we’re surrounded by people and things we can still feel desensitised and disconnected from everything going on. Lyrics throughout the track help to bring this track to life; ‘Just take a breath love, fill your lungs up, rest your head‘ as sometimes we all need to take a step back from everything to have the chance to appreciate the situation we’re all in and what we have.
The effortless beauty that Gabrielle Aplin and JP Cooper have created has been a long time in the making. As Gabrielle explains “I’ve been a huge fan of JP Cooper for years and I’m so happy he agreed to be on this song with me. I saw JP play an acoustic set at a festival three years ago I’ve wanted to work with him ever since.” When speaking of the track, JP Cooper added “All I can say is Gabrielle Aplin is the real deal. I’ve thought this for a long time, so when she came to me with this song I was more than happy to get involved.”. Losing Me is out now and you can listen to it here.
