Loved up sporting hero Gareth Bale has announced that he and long-term love Emma Rhys-Jones are officially engaged.
The Welsh man who helped Wales reach the semi-finals of Euro 2016 popped the question over the weekend to celebrate his birthday.
Bale confirmed the exciting news on Twitter, saying: “She said yes!! This is a birthday weekend I won’t forget for a long time”. (sic)
The couple who met in high-school have two children together, their first daughter Alba Violet was born in Cardiff in October 2012. And their second daughter, Nava Valentina was born in March of last year also in Cardiff.
It is unknown when the couple will tie the knot as Gareth will be busy playing for Real Madrid until May 2017. But the pair will have some free time in the summer of 2017 as there is no international tournament football and the La Liga season will be on a summer break until August.
Gareth and Emma are likely to wed in front of close family and friends in Cardiff, Wales.
