The Top Gear trio Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May have finally revealed the title for their new auto show. The show will be called The Grand Tour. Since the days of Top Gear, the hosts have been entertaining the auto fanatics across the world. From presenting some of the rare cars to informing the viewers of the working of the vehicle, they’ve done it all.
It’s no surprise that the new project will be well-loved by the viewers, but what’s created excitement amongst the fans was the name of the show.
The new show will actually be a ‘sort-of tour’ show. As Clarkson explained,
“Thing is, we’ll be travelling the world hosting each episode in a different country, from a giant tent.” Hence, the name The Grand Tour.
As reported by Jalopnik, “It was also confirmed with the announcement of the new show title that Clarkson, Hammond, and May would actually be touring, hosting 11 shows in viewer-requested locations to replace the studio element of the old format. Hammond referred to the new setup as a travelling tent.”
Also, while talking about their new venture, Hammond said,
“We are like our pioneering and prospecting forebears, sallying forth into a new frontier of broadcasting.”
The announcement has escalated the level of excitement amongst the fans. Not only will the viewers be able to watch the show, which will release on Amazon Prime sometime in Autumn, but they’ll also get a chance to participate in the tour. As reported by DigitalSpy,
“Amazon customers around the world will have the chance to be there, too – tickets will be released in a series of prize draws this summer.”
