Gigi Gorgeous Posts Inspiring Coming Out Video: “Take A Stand For Who You Are”

YouTube Gigi Gorgeous has recently posted a video on YouTube discussing her sexual identity and the topic of defining yourself.

I feel confident saying, yes I am a lesbian. And the best part about that is no one can tell me otherwise because it’s my sexual identity. Just like it’s your sexual identity. Don’t let anyone bully you or tell you that you are something that you don’t feel you are and take a stand for who you are!

She goes on to say that one of the many inspirational people who motivated her to make the coming out video was YouTuber Ricky Dillon who has a video discussing the terms of asexuality and being sexually fluid as an individual.

Overall, her story shows something that many people fail to realize: They fail to realize that trans individuals can be gay. In actuality, it’s a pretty common thing.

Huffington Post writer Katie Ann Holton discussed this commonness by stating:

Yes, it is possible, and pretty common. In fact, at this very moment, I am a trans woman who is also a lesbian. Transgender people are actually much less likely to be straight than cisgender (non-trans) people. Roughly 25% of trans people identify themselves as heterosexual. The rest of us are gay, bi, pan, queer, or other. However, that doesn’t mean that we are transitioning to be with women. We transition so we can be who we authentically are. It just happens that some of us are gay and bi women.
