On Tuesday, Glen Campbell’s family took to Facebook to announce that the country singer and guitarist from Arkansas has passed away. Campbell was 81.

The singer had been suffering from Alzheimer’s. His family released a statement which said,

“It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather.”

Campbell was a Grammy Award winning country singer/songwriter who gave a number of hits including 1975’s Rhinestone Cowboy, Honey Come Back (1970) and All I Have To Do Is Dream (1969). He went on to sell 45 million albums.

After spending years in the industry, Campbell decided to culminate his journey with the ‘Goodbye Tour’, the last show for which was held in California in November, 2012.

Glen Campbell will be missed. May his soul rest in peace.
